2.4m Hexapod X-band transportable terminal

The HX 240 X is designed to receive and transmit  signal in X band frequencies. It is possible to customize the antenna in a wide range of configuration. The modularity of the antenna allows to be used in several type of applications for LEO Satellite. The HX 240 X can be used as transportable station for Remote Sensing Application, where the information needs to be managed on the field. Ecology, hydrology, meteorology, oceanography, glaciology are some of the applications. Such data could be collected directly on the place where events are under observation. The HX 240 X is designed for satellite operating in X Band, but it is customizable for use in S, C or Ka band. The HX 240  could be used in a near future as small gateway for communication with the LEO Satellite Web Network (OneWeb, Starlink, etc.) thanks to different feed types.

Product Overview

The HT 240 X terminal functions as a receive-only terminal in the 8.00-8.4 GHz range in polar polarization (RHCP).


Its basic components are:
• Carbon Epoxy 2.4 reflector
• Feed Rx only
• Positioner
• Control unit
• Inertial measurement unit which includes two GPS / GNSS antennas

Antenna Subsystem

The main reflector is made in carbon-epoxy, and it is composed by eight petals (very light). The main reflector can be deployed in less than 30 minutes without any specific tool. The high pointing accuracy is guarantee by a very stiff structure together with a very accurate dish surface (better than 0.2 mm RMS).
The antenna features and innovative compact Cassegrain aluminum sub-reflector integrated in the feed-cone and the unique Feed design result in high gain and low noise temperature, high antenna efficiency and excellent rejection of noise and microwave interference.
The Hexapod positioner consist of six actuators and the electronic controller (HCU) driving and controlling them, and the rotary joints.
Each actuator embeds the electromechanical components that permits its elongation and the electronic board which controls its motion. The Hexapod Control Unit (HCU) is the controller of entire system that coordinates the motion of the 6 actuators and permits the communication with the remote Antenna Control Unit (ACU).
The Hexapod Antenna is easily adaptable on different platform and vehicle installations. 
After proper installation and calibration the antenna deployment does not need any further calibration or alignment or measurement. 
The Feed is easily assembled and disassembled without any specifics tool.
Flat dielectric radome seals the antenna feed horn aperture. The Feed and the relevant waveguides are connected to a passive dehydrating system. LNA is installed within the Feed cone
Feed Cone is protected against sand, dust and rain (class IP 65).
