University of Rome

Feeding and handling S-band antenna for the University of Rome

Following the request from the University of Rome, towards our partner Sicilsat Communications s.r.l., our company took care of the mechanical design and construction of a satellite system with 4.5 m antenna, for the reception of LEO satellites operating in the band. S.


The satellite system was installed on a roof via an NPRM at the Urbe airport.

Activities carried out:

1. Design and Supply of RF-Head operating in the S band (2200 - 2300 MHz) for the correct operation of the 4.5 m network antenna.
Switches, filters, LNAs have been allocated in the RF head.

2.  Mechanical handling design able to accurately follow the LEO satellites.
   
3. Supply of a servo system (ACU + MDU) for controlling the antenna and its components.

4. Simulations of the complete antenna.
